The Pro-Ject Phono Box S2 is a compact preamp that supports both MM & MC cartridges via impedance and capacitance switches. It improved the sound of the project debut carbon DC turntable and does not produce any heat. The lack of cables included was not an issue as it is usual for components to ship with low-quality cables. Some users recommend checking the Pro-Ject Phono Box S2 instead for the ability to adjust impedance/capacitance. One customer couldn't recommend the product as they had issues with their unit. Another suggested checking out the Pro-Ject Stereo Box S2 if looking for an amplifier.
